LILIA A. MARKAROVA
Lilia A. Markarova was born on December 15, 1982.
In 1997-2001 she hosted the “AREG” children’s show on H1 Television and prepared reports for the series.
In 2001 she was declared winner of the ACTR/ACCELS program and traveled to the USA to participate in the one-year course on TV journalism. Along with her studies, Lilia also worked as a television host at WOCC-TV3 television station in Westerville. In 2002 she was acknowledged as best host of the year.
In 2002-2005 she produced documentaries at a studio in Yerevan. She was in charge of preparing grant proposals, developing short-term and long-term marketing plans for the studio, establishment of contacts with potential clients and news organizations, as well as creating and updating databases. Lilia was also in charge of studies on marketing, strategic planning, as well as organizing marketing and advertisements.
Lilia has also been in charge of relations with foreign clients (the UN, US Embassy, USAID, OXFAM, IOM, etc.) and carrying out various mass media projects upon their request.
In 2004 she graduated from the Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Bryusov with a degree in geology and languages (English and Italian).
In 2005-2006 she received her MA in Mass Media Management and Marketing from Columbia University of Chicago. She previously worked in the marketing department at US Pharmacopela in Washington and was in charge of coordinating administrative and financial issues connected to marketing advocacy of projects being implemented by various mass media outlets, as well as public relations and collaboration with international organizations.
Lilia Markarova is fluent in English and Russian and has good knowledge of Italian.
