SIRVARD S. HAMBARYAN

 

Sirvard S. Hambaryan was born on November 1, 1961 in Yerevan and graduated from middle school with honors.

 

In 1985 she graduated from the Department of History of Yerevan State University with a degree in History and was qualified as a historian and teacher of history and sociology.

 

In 1983 she graduated from the Faculty of Sociological Professions of YSU with a MA in Law.

 

In 1985 she got married and was sent on a business trip to the Goris region. In 1985-1994 she worked as a teacher of history, sociology and law at the N 3 schools of Verishen and the other city of Goris. She has also worked at the “Syunik” regional news center.

 

She started working as a correspondent in her school years with “Pioneer’s Call” and then became a correspondent for the “Avant-garde”, “Yerevan University” and “Zangezur” newspapers.

 

In 1994 she and her family moved to the Taganrog city of Rostov region of the Russian Federation.

 

In 1994-2004 she worked as deputy director on experimental work at N 17 middle school of Taganrog, curator of specialized law classes, teacher of history and sociology at the N 17 and 22 schools of the city. In 1999-2001 she worked as a lecturer of history at the pedagogical institute of Taganrog and the bureau of translator services. Sirvard has received first-class teacher qualification and participated in the Doni Rostov regional institute’s courses on training and rise of qualification of educators. She has prepared her own curriculum for “Theory of government and law” for law students.

 

In 1997 she worked with a group of young intellectuals on creating an Armenian community in Taganrog and headed the community until 2004.

 

In 2002 she founded an Armenian Sunday school, worked for the “Nor Dar” and “Doni Nakhichevan Armenian community” newspapers of Doni Rostov and the “Vekhi Taganroga” historiographic magazine.

 

In 2004 she and her family moved to Armenia.

 

In 2004-2007 Sirvard worked as a dean and lecturer at the Faculty of International Relations of the Armenian Open University. In 2004-2009 she was a lecturer at the department of “International Relations and European Cooperation” of the European Regional Academy.

 

She has been an applicant of the “Anthropology and Ethnography” department of the Faculty of History at Yerevan State University since 2007. She is working on her thesis entitled “Processes of adaptation of Armenians and the study of mechanisms for defense of ethnicities in the Russian Federation (with the example of Armenians of Taganrog).

 

In 1997-2002 she participated in 10 international, pan-Russian, Southern Russian and continental projects and programs in spheres of society, education and journalism. She has authored a grant project with the theme “Ethnic minorities in Taganrog”.

 

In November 2001 she took part in the first pan-Russian civil forum in Moscow.

 

In 2002 she participated in the conferences on “Southern Russia: Solidarity and Cooperation” in Krasnodar and “Culture of Inter-ethnic Communication” in Doni Rostov.

 

She has been a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1982-1990 and has been independent since 1990.

 

She is married and has a son and a daughter.

 

Sirvard has been granted diplomas, certificates of honor by the authorities of Yerevan and Goris, the regional authorities of Rostov (Russian Federation), the municipal authorities of Taganrog, the Ministries of Education and the department of internal affairs, as well as certificates of honor and letters of gratitude by the RA Embassy in Russia, the Union of Armenians of Russia and the “New Nakhichevan Armenian community” administration.

 

She has 8 historiographical articles and over 50 articles on society and politics, pedagogy, preservation of Armenian identity, activities of the Armenian community of Taganrog and issues concerning communities of Russia.

 

She has been working at the RA Ministry of Diaspora since September 2008. She has held the vacant position of head of the division of scientific and educational projects of the department of Pan-Armenian programs since November 2008 and has been head of the division since July 2009.

What is motherhood?


A mother is a divine, exceptional, incomparable and an irreplaceable human being. I first and foremost owe it to my mother for my life, career and achievements.
