ANAHIT V. ZOHRABYAN
Anahit V. Zohrabyan was born on August 16, 1953 in Yerevan.
In 1974 she graduated from the Philological Faculty of the Armenian State Pedagogical Institute after Kh. Abovyan of Yerevan and was qualified as a teacher of Armenian language and literature. She has been teaching for nearly 30 years.
In 1974-1978 she worked as a teacher at the middle school of the Ayghr Lake village of the Echmiadzin region.
In 1978-1990 she was an instructor at the school department of the Yerevan municipal committee of the Armenian Lenin Youth Communist Union and expert of methods at the Young Communists’ school of the Central Committee of the ALYCU.
In 1992-1994 she worked as vice-principal and Armenian language teacher at the N 191 middle school of Yerevan.
In 1994-1995 she worked as a method expert at the department of people’s education in the Shahumyan region.
In 1997-2009 she worked as vice-principal at the N 181 school of Yerevan.
Anahit is an expert in methods for teaching Armenian language and literature.
She is also a participant of a number of projects for educational reforms.
In 2002 and 2005 she was selected in the working group of projects being implemented by the US State Department of Education and Culture and the IREX (International Research and Exchange Board) in Armenia, received pedagogical-methodical training in the USA and was qualified as a reproducer. She is a co-author of six textbooks published within the framework of the above mentioned projects.
In 2002-2007 she headed the monthly teacher training courses in schools in Yerevan and different regions of Armenia.
She has authored many pedagogical articles and has received numerous awards. In 2006 she was declared winner of the “Best Teacher of the Year” award during the ceremony held by the RA Ministry of Education and Science and the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Along with teaching, Anahit has also been involved in journalism. She has hosted her own television and radio programs, has been a correspondent for children’s presses and has edited pedagogical books. Anahit has two children.
