Division of Relations with Armenian Communities of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova

The Division of Relations with Armenian Communities of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova of the Department of Armenian Communities of the CIS of the RA Ministry of Diaspora is a structural subdivision of the staff of the Ministry of Diaspora that coordinates the standing relations and cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian communities of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova.
The division carries out the following functions by the order established by RA legislation and according to the Ministry’s charter:
- Studies the history, culture and particularities of issues of formation of communities, the social-economic state and distribution of Armenian communities of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova
- Studies the history and current state of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova
- Studies the activities of well-known Armenian organizations functioning in the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova and develops programs for collaboration
- Ensures the participation of the Armenian communities in the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova in pan-Armenian projects, as well as assists in the social, political, scientific, economic, educational and cultural events,
- Receives and coordinates complete and integrative information about Armenian communities of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova
- Participates in organizing receptions, mutual visits and different events for representatives of Armenian communities of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova
- Contributes to cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and Armenian communities of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova
- Assists in the complete integration of Armenians in the social, political and economic life in the Armenian communities of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova
- Assists in the activities of Diaspora Armenian organizations of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova for preservation of Armenian identity, as well as the preservation, development and dissemination of Armenian cultural heritage,
- Takes part in the analyses on situations related to the department’s field of activity based on project proposals,
- Prepares drafts of legal acts, proposals, conclusions and other documents based on the division’s functions and issues, as well as clarification of issues and functions and development of guidelines,
- Discusses letters, appeals, suggestions and complaints relating to the division’s field of activity and addressed to the Ministry and ensures fair and proper solutions to the issues raised,
- Prepares proposals, references, statements, letters of commendation, reports and other records within the powers of the division.
The division of Armenian communities of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova is currently working on
- Gathering and coordinating information about Armenian communities, organizations and individuals from Russia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine.
- Organizing meetings with representatives of Armenian communities of the above mentioned countries.
- Monitoring media.
- Preparing the concept-plan entitled “Armenians in Russia”
- Implements activities within the framework of the “Come Home” project
- Studying key issues relating to the Armenian Diaspora of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova.
