Division of Relations with Armenian Communities of Central Asian Countries

The Division of Relations with Armenian Communities of Central Asian Countries of the Department of Armenian Communities of the CIS of the staff of the RA Ministry of Diaspora is a structural subdivision of the staff that coordinates the standing relations and partnership between the Republic of Armenia and Armenian communities of Central Asia.

 

The division carries out the following functions by the order established by RA legislation and according to the Ministry’s charter to implement its goals and objectives:

 

  1. Studies the history, culture and particularities of issues concerning formation of communities, the social-economic state and distribution of Armenian communities of Central Asian countries,
  2. Studies the history and current state of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and countries of Central Asia,
  3. Studies the activities of well-known Armenian organizations functioning in Central Asia and develops programs for collaboration
  4. Ensures the participation of the Armenian communities of Central Asia in pan-Armenian projects, as well as assists in the social, political, scientific, economic, educational and cultural events,
  5. Receives and coordinates complete and integrative information about Armenian communities of Central Asia,
  6. Participates in organizing receptions, mutual visits and different events for representatives of Armenian communities of Central Asia
  7. Contributes to cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and Armenian communities of Central Asia
  8. Assists in the complete integration of Armenians in the social, political and economic life in the Armenian communities of Central Asia
  9. Assists in the activities of Diaspora Armenian organizations of Central Asia for preservation of Armenian identity, as well as the preservation, development and dissemination of Armenian cultural heritage, 
  10. Takes part in the analyses on situations related to the department’s field of activity based on project proposals, 
  11. Prepares drafts of legal acts, proposals, conclusions and other documents based on the division’s functions and issues, as well as clarification of issues and functions and development of guidelines, 
  12. Discusses letters, appeals, suggestions and complaints relating to the division’s field of activity and addressed to the Ministry and ensures fair and proper solutions to the issues raised, 
  13. Prepares proposals, references, statements, letters of commendation, reports and other records within the division’s powers.

 

The division of relations with Armenian communities of Central Asian countries is currently involved in:

 

-gathering and coordinating information about Armenian communities, organizations and individuals of Central Asia


-organizing meetings with representatives of Armenian communities of Central Asian countries

 

-monitoring media

 

-implementing the “Come Home” project

 

-conducting investigations on key issues relating to the Armenian Diaspora of Central Asia.
