Division of Relations with Armenian Communities of the Caucasus Region

The Division of Relations with Armenian Communities of the Caucasus Region of the Department of Armenian Communities of the CIS of the staff of the RA Ministry of Diaspora is a structural subdivision of the staff that coordinates the standing relations and partnership between the Republic of Armenia and Armenian communities of the Caucasus region.

The division carries out the following functions by the order established by RA legislation and according to the Ministry’s charter to implement its goals and objectives:

1. Studies the history, culture and particularities of issues of formation of communities, the social-economic state and distribution of Armenian communities of the Caucasus region
2. Studies the history and current state of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and countries of the Caucasus region,
3. Studies the activities of well-known Armenian organizations functioning in the Middle Asian region and develops programs for collaboration,
4. Maintains and broadens relations with Armenian organizations in the Caucasus region
5. Organizes receptions and mutual visits of representatives of Armenian communities of the Caucasus region, discussions of issues and recaps the discussions,
6. Ensures the participation of the Armenian communities of the Caucasus region in pan-Armenian projects, as well as assists in the social, political, scientific, economic, educational and cultural events,
7. Contributes to cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and Armenian communities of the Caucasus region,
8. Assists in the activities of Diaspora Armenian organizations of the  Caucasus region for preservation of Armenian identity, as well as the preservation, development and dissemination of Armenian cultural heritage,
9. Prepares drafts of legal acts, proposals, conclusions and other documents based on the division’s functions and issues, as well as clarification of issues and functions and development of guidelines, 
10. Prepares proposals, references, statements, letters of commendation, reports and other records within the powers of the division, 
11. Takes part in the analyses on situations related to the department’s field of activity based on project proposals.

The division of relations with Armenian communities of the Caucasus region is currently involved in:

-gathering and coordinating information about Armenian communities, organizations and individuals of the Caucasus region

-organizing meetings with representatives of Armenian communities of the Caucasus region

-monitoring media

-implementing the “Ari Tun” project

-conducting investigations on key issues relating to the Armenian Diaspora of the Caucasus region.
