STEPAN G. PETROSYAN
Stepan G. Petrosyan was born on July 17, 1951 in the Davtashen village of the Talin region.
In 1973 he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Physics of Yerevan State University.
In 1976 he graduated from the PhD Department of the Institute of Physics and Technology of Ioffe of the USSR National Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg.
In 1977-1984 he was an associate and senior researcher at the Department of Physics of Semi-conductors and Dielectrics of the Faculty of Radio Physics of Yerevan State University.
In 1984-1991 he was an associate professor at the Department of Physics of Semi-conductors and Dielectrics of the Faculty of Radio Physics at Yerevan State University.
In 1991-2004 he was professor at the Department of Physics of Semi-conductors and Dielectrics of the Faculty of Radio Physics of Yerevan State University.
In 2003-2008 he was director of the group of theoreticians for the “Semi-conductor Nanoelectronics” state prospective project.
In 2004-2008 he was Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) State University and professor of the Department of Solid Physical Electronic Materials and Components
Stepan Petrosyan received his PhD in physical and mathematical sciences (Technical University of St. Petersburg, 1990) and was a professor in 2005.
Stepan Petrosyan has authored three textbooks, a monograph and nearly 80 scientific articles. The majority of the articles have been published in notable foreign journals. Petrosyan has also participated in and given reports during many international scientific conferences.
He is fluent in English and Russian. He is married and has three children.
International relations and visits
1984-1985: Long-term research trip to the Louisiana State University and California State University-Riverside, USA.
1989-1990: Doctorate at the Institute of Physics and Technology after Ioffe of the National Academy of Sciences of the USSR in St. Petersburg, Russia.
1988, 1992, 1994 and 1997: He participated in the activities of the school of science for three months at the International Center for Theory of Physics of Trieste, Italy as a leading researcher.
1997-2004: Elected member of the International Center for Theory of Physics of Trieste, Italy; participated in scientific lectures, conferences and research.
2001: Six-month research at the State University of Pavia, Italy.
2003: One-month joint research project at the laboratory of the PHASE-CNRS; Strasbourg, France.
2002-2005: One-month scientific research and three-month lectures on semi-conductor nanoelectronics at the University of Bokhum, Germany.
2007: One-month research at the University of Toronto, Canada.
