The study on “Armenians of Baku in the second half of the 19th century” will be translated into English and published under patronage of Gagik Zakharyan

On September 17, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Russia-based businessman, active representative of the Armenian community in St. Petersburg Gagik Zakharyan, Adviser to the RA Minister of Diaspora in Moscow and the Province of Moscow Ruben Gasparyan, Director of the Institute of History at the RA National Academy of Sciences Ashot Melkonyan and leading scientific worker of the History Institute Gevorg Stepanyan.


During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the Armenia-Diaspora partnership and particularly addressed the key issues concerning the Armenian community in Russia.


By the initiative of Minister Hakobyan, the RA Ministry of Diaspora, the Institute of History at the RA National Academy of Sciences and businessman G. Zakharyan signed a trilateral agreement. According to the agreement, the historical-demographical study on “Armenians of Baku in the second half of the 19th century” by leading scientific worker of the Institute of History at the RA National Academy of Sciences, PhD in History G. Stepanyan will be translated and published under patronage of G. Zakharyan and by the order of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
