On September 3, the Advisory Board under the RA Minister of Diaspora convened a subsequent session headed by Hranush Hakobyan.
The agenda included two main and current issues.
RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Stepan Petrosyan presented the RA draft laws on the “Concept on organizing the process of repatriation” and “Repatriation”. The draft laws were developed by studying other countries’ experience, considering the opinions of the heads of RA diplomatic representations and pan-Armenian structures and organizing discussions. The development and implementation of programs promoting repatriation are also viewed as an important component of state policy in the RA President’s pre-electoral platform, the RA Government’s plan of actions for 2009-2012 and the “Concept on development of the Armenia-Diaspora Partnership”. The process of repatriation and its regulation are one of the important issues for Armenia and the Diaspora in terms of preservation of the Armenian identity, the solution to demographic and territorial-strategic issues facing Armenia and the consolidation of the potential of all Armenians. S. Petrosyan also addressed the goals and objectives of the Concept on Repatriation, the stages and structural orders of the process of repatriation, the directions for integration of repatriates and other issues. He also presented the main provisions of the RA Law on “Repatriation”.
Head of the Department of Repatriation and Research of the RA Ministry of Diaspora A. Yeghiazaryan gave a report on the organization of the Pan-Armenian Forum of Artists entitled “Art and the Internet, Art and Business”. Over 50 artists, including painters, sculptors, art critics and designers of 15 countries, as well as artists from Javakhk, Artsakh and Armenia, will take part in the forum. A. Yeghiazaryan also introduced the forum’s program.
