On September 1, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received founding director of the “Diaspora and Genocide” Institute at the University of Bokhum in Germany, historian, expert on the Diaspora and the Genocide, Professor Mihran Dabagh. Dabagh is also editor-in-chief of the magazine entitled “Studies on Genocide” and the series of books entitled “Genocide and Memory”, as well as author of numerous works on the Armenian Genocide and the Diaspora.
Welcoming the guest, Mrs. Hakobyan presented the Ministry’s activities and upcoming programs, particularly the pan-Armenian professional forums aimed at consolidating the potential of all Armenians of the Diaspora, the program called “Establishment of an Alley of Armenian Benefactors” and more.
Mihran Dabagh presented the activities of the “Diaspora and Genocide” Institute at the University of University and stated that the institute’s activities have helped inform German society about the Armenian Genocide through academic studies. Dabagh also stressed that one of the objectives of the institute is to reach Germany’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
