ATOM R. MKHITARYAN
Atom R. Mkhitaryan was born in Spitak in 1972.
In 1988, he graduated from middle school with a silver medal.
In 1993, he graduated from the Faculty of Physics at Yerevan State University with honors.
In 1993, he got accepted to the post-graduate program at the Institute of Physics Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Armeia.
In 1999, he defended his academic thesis and received the title of candidate of physic-mathematical sciences.
In 1994-1996, he has worked as a junior scientific worker at the Institute of Physics Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.
In 2003-2008, he has worked as leading expert for the international relations division of the RA Central Electoral Commission.
In 2007, he graduated from the Armenian Academy of State Administration with a Master’s degree in Law.
In 2008-2010, he has worked as chief expert, then head of the Division for Science Policy and Development Programs of the state science committee at the RA Ministry of Education and Science.
Since 2006, he has been lecturing at the international scientific-educational center of the National Academy of Sciences.
Since 2010, he has been working as Head of the Department of All-Armenian Programs at the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
Atom Mkhitaryan is an author of public-scientific works and has delivered speeches at numerous international conferences. Until 2009, he headed the Young Scientists’ Council of the National Academy of Sciences.
He is an expert of the European Union’s program “Youth in Movement”, president of the Association of Youth Organizations of the World Armenian Congress, vice-president of the Y-E-N international organization (based in Strasbourg), member of the team of European Council instructors, president of the Federation of Youth Clubs and the World Armenian Youth Net, as well as member of the national youth policy council under the RA Prime Minister.
He is married with two children.
