ADVISORY BOARD UNDER THE RA MINISTER OF DIASPORA
The Advisory Board under the Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia was established by Resolution N 1553 of the RA Government (2008 December 25). The model of the advisory board’s regulations was established by N46 Protocol of RA Government Session N 47 (2008 November 20).
The Advisory Board is a consultative body under the RA Minister of Diaspora, which may adopt resolutions of a consultative nature through open voting and a clear majority of votes. The Advisory Board organizes its activities through sessions that are convened once a month.
A special feature of the Advisory Board is that it includes renowned Armenians from Armenia and the Diaspora as well. This provides Armenians living in all corners of the globe to discuss and find solutions to issues of their concern.
Diaspora Armenians who are members of the Advisory Board and live abroad take part in the sessions by sending their comments and suggestions regarding the issues being discussed via the Internet.
The goal of the Advisory Board is to assist in strategic planning of the Ministry’s activities, adopting political resolutions, developing programs, as well as developing and presenting suggestions for raising the level of effectiveness of the Ministry’s governance and contributing to the implementation, evaluation of strategic programs and the participation of civil society, Diaspora Armenian individuals and organizations.
